Yerba mate Verdeada Estacionada 500 g
The second option from the Verdeada brand, this time in a version with an extended natural ageing period of 24 months. The pack of this version contains selected medium-sized leaves with some stems and practically no dust.
On opening the pack you will notice a fairly mild aroma that can be described as woody and hay-like with noticeable nutty notes. It is neither sharp nor overly intense - rather light, but rich.
Just like the traditional version, the light aroma camouflages the interesting and bold flavours coming straight from the infusion. Verdeada Estacionada is an exceptionally intriguing option. The flavour is deep from the very first sip, strongly nutty and wheaty, complemented by bitterness and astringency. The infusion also has a light sweetness in the form of malty notes, as well as a delicate smoky accent. With subsequent refills the intensity grows, creating a very good composition that stays in your memory for a long time. The full flavour spreads pleasantly in the mouth, leaving a drying aftertaste on the tongue.
In terms of yield, this is undoubtedly a yerba that is not afraid of water and bravely withstands refills while providing a solid energy boost. In terms of strength it is certainly not at the very top among Argentinian yerbas, but this is not about strength - it is about flavour. And in this respect it is one of the best options to join our range this year.
It is also worth mentioning that it comes from a family business producing on a relatively small scale - a craft yerba, no doubt about it.
