Yerba mate Verdeada Tradicional 500 g
Another classic straight from Argentina for lovers of this style, which is extremely popular in Poland. The pack contains leaves of various sizes, both slightly coarser cut and more finely ground. Add to that medium-cut stems and a moderate amount of dust - it looks intriguing.
What can we expect in this case?
On opening the pack you will notice an interesting woody aroma, slightly nutty with a noticeable but delicate smoky accent. To sum up, it is not overly heavy or intense, rather moderate overall.
The fairly mild aroma is just one aspect of this yerba - the flavours of the infusion are a completely different story. Verdeada Tradicional has a slightly grainy and woody taste. It can be described as balanced, with moderate bitterness and astringency and a smoky accent. With subsequent refills the intensity of the infusion grows, and the individual flavours become more pronounced.
A kind of compliment for this new product may be to compare its flavour to something between Rei Verde Argentina and Isondu Tradicional - at least that is what the flavours we noticed in the infusion reminded us of.
Two aspects remain: yield and energy effect. In terms of yield it is above average - the yerba holds its flavour for a long time and delivers interesting flavour sensations. In terms of energy it is solid, but it is not an exceptionally stimulating variety. In this respect it sits rather in the middle of the pack among Argentinian classics.

To sum up, Verdeada in the Tradicional version is a very tasty Argentinian classic with interesting flavour accents, which we recommend both to those looking for new flavours on the yerba market and to complete beginners starting their adventure with the green gold of South America.
