Yerba Mate Online Store

Yerba Mate is a dried, ground herbal product made from the leaves and twigs of a small tree native to the rainforests. For centuries, it was consumed primarily by the people of Paraguay, Brazil, Argentina, and Uruguay, until the Yerba Mate phenomenon eventually reached other countries around the world, including Poland. The beverage is distinguished by a characteristic taste with a noticeable bitterness—which has won it many fans—and a potent energizing effect, making it a genuine alternative to coffee or tea. Key properties of Yerba Mate include its energizing qualities, support for weight loss, and improvements to memory and concentration. If you are looking for a well-stocked online Yerba Mate store with products at attractive prices, you’ve come to the right place!

Yerba Mate in our store – what exactly is it?

We encounter the name „Yerba Mate” very often, yet many people still do not know exactly what the product is. In short, it consists of the dried and finely ground leaves of the Ilex paraguariensis (Paraguayan holly) plant; these are placed in a vessel and steeped in water at a temperature of approximately 70–75°C. Yerba Mate can also be prepared with cold water—a version known as terere—often consumed with the addition of aromatic herbs. The resulting infusion is sipped through a special filtering straw called a bombilla, usually made of stainless steel. Proper preparation and the right accessories are half the battle; all that remains is to acquire a taste for it and enjoy the infusion regularly. South American caffeinated tea (Yerba mate) is characterized by a balanced flavor profile reminiscent of green tea, featuring woody and cereal notes, as well as perceptible bitterness, astringency, and more. The taste depends on the country of origin, the leaf grind, and any herbal additives. Each of the main South American producing countries cultivates, dries, or processes Ilex paraguariensis (yerba mate) leaves differently, ensuring you can find products that suit your palate.

We base our expertise on both theory and practice. We leverage over a decade of experience drinking yerba mate by testing and introducing new varieties and accessories related to the plant every day. Yerba mate is both our passion and our profession. You can find all the necessary products on our website with just a few clicks. To start, it is worth noting that yerba mate is a beverage rapidly gaining popularity in Poland. Naturally, the highest consumption occurs in the „cradle of green gold”—South America—with countries like Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay, and Uruguay holding the largest shares of the global market.

What are the properties of this herbal infusion, called yerba mate?

The yerba mate available through our online store and at our brick-and-mortar shop in Rzeszów offers stimulating properties similar to those of coffee or tea. However, yerba mate is not a tea; it is a completely different herb. So, what gives it the edge? Its effect differs from that of the aforementioned beverages: yerba mate acts more gently but provides a much longer-lasting effect.

The primary benefit of yerba mate stems from the stimulating properties of the Ilex paraguariensis plant, guaranteeing sustained focus and concentration for hours. But that is not all! This aromatic infusion does not irritate the stomach; on the contrary, it has a positive effect on the digestive system, warming the body while aiding digestion and metabolism. Yerba mate might be called as a natural energy drink substitute, it is also a potent antioxidant; it helps combat obesity, supports weight loss, and raises „good” cholesterol levels. Furthermore, this unique brew offers anti-cancer, antifungal, and anti-inflammatory benefits, alongside anti-diabetic properties and more.
