Yerba Mate Hierbas Silvestres Compuesta Blend no.1 Suave 500 g
One of 4 strongly herbal options from a brand new to the Polish yerba mate market. The Hierbas Silvestres brand offers 4 special blends in which the additions play quite a significant role. This is also the case here, as the pack contains only 70% mate, with the rest being chamomile. Quite a lot, wouldn't you agree?
We open the pack, take a sniff and what do we smell? The aroma can be described as fresh, pleasant and gentle, reminiscent of a damp meadow or hay. Looking at the contents, we see medium-sized yerba mate leaves and stems with a moderate amount of dust. Everything is complemented by the chamomile mentioned above, which is cut relatively finely, giving the blend a rather unusual texture.
Pour water over Hierbas Silvestres No. 1 Suave and you will find a light taste with subtle bitterness and mildness. Add to that a minimal acidity combined with astringency and sweetness. The flavour of this blend is very distinctive and a bit all-or-nothing: you will either love it or not at all. If you are curious which camp you will join, be sure to try this blend.
In terms of yield it does very well. With a standard 40-50 serving, you can easily pour through more than a litre of water. The flavour of the blend lasts a long time and is hard to wash out quickly - and isn't that the whole point?
An option for those looking for unusual flavour combinations or mild varieties with a relatively low stimulating effect. If you like chamomile, this mate is definitely for you.
