Yerba Mate El Moncayo Compuesta 1 kg
An exceptional mate produced in Brazil for the Uruguayan market. Besides yerba mate, it contains as many as 10 aromatic herbs, which give the leaves a beautiful aroma and a unique flavour. The blend contains the following herbs: peppermint, lemon verbena, chamomile, boldo, linden, carnicera, carqueja, sarandi blanco, arrayan and sombra de toro.
The added herbs largely neutralise the classic bitterness, and the herbal notes come through strongly. This mate is ideal for drinking cold as terere on hot summer days.
Because the leaves are finely ground, this type of mate needs to be prepared with a so-called mound. Otherwise, drinking El Moncayo will be very difficult and fine particles may clog the bombilla.
The flavour of El Moncayo combines the best features of Brazilian and Argentinian mates. In the infusion you will find freshness, vegetal notes, acidity and bitterness. This variety offers a solid dose of stimulation and a pleasant, intense flavour that will surely stay with you for a long time.
Interestingly, El Moncayo mate, like most Uruguayan-style mates, is produced in Brazil and then imported to countries including Uruguay, the largest importer of yerba mate in the world.
