Opis produktu
Yerba Mate Akila Tipo PU-1 500 g
Another Uruguayan-style choice in our range. As befits this type of processing and cut, the pack contains very finely cut leaves with a minimal amount of stems and a large amount of dust. This means you cannot do without a mound and a solid bombilla (bomba).
Akila Tipo PU-1 has a strongly herbal, grassy aroma with a light smokiness and sharpness. It smells pleasant and invites you to many hours of mate drinking.
The infusion itself is creamy, straw-like, lightly smoky and tea-like, with a noticeable but light astringency and a mouth-drying finish on the tongue. The flavour is remarkably complex and varied, but that is not all!
In Akila, as in other Uruguayan-style yerbas, there is often a slightly salty note which I personally associate with umami. It is not in the foreground, but you can definitely taste it.
Interestingly, the dried leaves absorb water very quickly and swell, so keep this in mind when choosing the size of your serving, so that the leaves do not start "escaping" from the matero.
As for yield, as befits Uruguayan yerbas, it is above average - so much so that it is really hard to fully wash out a serving and drain it of all flavour. With a 40 g serving and 1.5 l of water, I did not manage it.
In terms of energy it is solid - not the most energising yerba, but it will certainly give you quite a decent boost
Fans of Uruguayan-style yerba mate will surely be pleased. Alongside Rei Verde Export Premium and Baldo, it is so far the one I have enjoyed the most among new arrivals of this type. I recommend it to you too!
