Proper care and preparation are extremely important to keep it in good condition, i.e. to avoid cracks. It is also worth considering vessels with a metal rim – they are the most practical, durable and robust. Compared with a matero without a rim, they last longer and are more resistant to damage.

As for everyday use, it is a good idea to empty the leftover mate from the vessel on the same day you use it. Once emptied, simply rinse the inside gently, wipe it thoroughly with a paper towel and leave it to dry upright in a well-ventilated place for at least 3-4 hours or until you use it again the next day.
