Rosamonte is one of the best-known and best-loved brands all over the world. Yerba Mate Rosamonte has a unique, one-of-a-kind flavour with a slightly sweetish note. Distinctive in taste, it tempts with its aroma and a decent stimulating kick. This Argentinian mate energises lovers of classic yerba mate. Free of unnecessary additives, it will be a perfect choice for beginners getting to know this specific but incredibly good taste. Rosamonte Elaborada contains the leaves and stems of Paraguayan holly. It comes from the famous province of Misiones in Argentina.
Unlike traditional tea, Yerba Mate is prepared with a much larger amount of dried leaves – properly prepared yerba should fill the vessel from 1/2 to ¾ of its volume. Nevertheless, the herb is very economical, because the same leaves can be infused many times until the flavour is completely washed out. The infusion is an effective stimulant, all thanks to its caffeine and theobromine content. It is a distinctive-tasting Argentinian mate with a medium stimulating effect which, contrary to widely repeated claims, is not aged with rosewood – or at least there is no information confirming this process. Nevertheless, Rosamonte has its own unique, delicate, sweetish aftertaste. It is intended for lovers of classic mate without any additives. We also recommend it to people who are just starting their adventure with Paraguayan holly. This product contains leaves and stems and quite a lot of dust for an Argentinian variety.
How is Yerba Mate Rosamonte 1 kg produced?
The Yerba Mate Rosamonte 1 kg available in our shop is made from top-quality, mature, hand-picked Paraguayan holly stems and leaves. Right after harvesting, the raw material is transported in special cloths directly to the drying house, where the harvested leaves are dried and roasted. The freshly picked plants are first dried for about half a minute at a high temperature by direct exposure to fire. This is when the leaves acquire their characteristic flavour and aroma, which cannot be mistaken for anything else. In the next step, all impurities are removed from the raw material and the leaves go into a dryer, where they are exposed to hot air.
The next stage in producing Yerba Mate Rosamonte is thoroughly grinding the leaves and packing them into sacks, in which the yerba is aged for up to 24 months in specially designated warehouses. It is during this time that the leaves develop their unique flavour. After this period, the leaves are ground to the right size and then packed into bags intended for sale all over the world.
