Yerba Mate Mate Rojo "10" Tradicional Napoli 250 g
The last of three new products from Yerba Mate "10", again a traditional version without additives, but this time a bit more finely cut and bolder in flavour and effect. The brand comes from the town of Oberá in the province of Misiones, Argentina. Produced by Mate Rojo (Molinos La Misión SA), a company founded by the son of Ukrainian immigrants, Don Juan Eladio Stepaniuk. Their portfolio includes brands such as Mate Rojo, Rodeo, "10", Il Capitano, Chamame and Kurupi.
The pack is light blue with a white number "10" in the centre and an Italian flag above it. It is worth mentioning that the pack has a doypack zip closure, so you can easily open and close it, preventing loss of the yerba's aroma and flavour.
Inside the pack of Yerba Mate "10" Napoli you will find medium-sized leaves mixed with medium-sized stems, and the amount of dust is moderate. The aroma of the dry leaves is quite bold, dominated by woody, hay-like, algae, tea, cereal-nutty and grassy notes.
Unlike the Extra Suave version, the infusion here is full-bodied and bold right away. There is quite a lot of bitterness and astringency, a slight smokiness and creaminess, cereal-nutty accents, an astringent aftertaste on the tongue, as well as malty, algae and tea notes. An extremely successful and rich composition, which should certainly interest lovers of bolder yerba mate from Argentina. It does not lose strength or intensity over successive infusions.
The leaves have a very high yield, are strongly stimulating and offer a wide range of interesting accents, making it an excellent option for a whole day of mate drinking. If you are looking for a bold Argentinian yerba, you should not miss this option from Yerba Mate "10".
