Opis produktu
Yerba Mate Mate Rojo "10" Extra Suave Molienda Gruesa 250 g
Another new arrival from Yerba Mate "10", this time a traditional, coarsely cut Argentinian yerba without additives. The brand comes from the town of Oberá in the province of Misiones, Argentina. It is produced by Mate Rojo (Molinos La Misión SA), a company founded by the son of Ukrainian immigrants, Don Juan Eladio Stepaniuk. Their portfolio includes brands such as Mate Rojo, Rodeo, "10", Il Capitano, Chamame and Kurupi.
The packaging comes in dark and light blue with a gold number "10" in the centre of the pack. It is worth mentioning that the bag is a doypack with a zip closure, so it is easy to open and reseal, preventing the yerba from losing its aroma and flavour.
Inside the Yerba Mate "10" Extra Suave pack you will find coarsely cut leaves with a small amount of medium-sized stems and minimal dust. The aroma of the dry leaf is fairly light: woody, grainy-nutty, seaweed-like, hay-like and tea-like.
True to its name, the infusion is fairly light and mild, especially in the first infusions. Over time, however, the intensity grows and some notes become stronger. The bitterness and astringency are relatively light, there is plenty of creaminess and, as with the aroma, you can taste woody, seaweed-like, tea-like and grainy-nutty notes. This combination of flavours will especially appeal to those who prefer milder yerbas and to people just starting their adventure with Paraguayan holly.
Because of the fairly coarse cut, it is worth taking slightly longer breaks between refills to bring out the full flavour of the leaves.
The producer also states that the blend does not cause heartburn, with the label "zero acidez", and that it is intended for both hot (para mate) and cold (terere) preparation.
In terms of stimulation it is a moderate option, just right for a few hours of sipping to maintain a good level of energy, focus and concentration. The yerba is very long-lasting, so a standard serving can easily keep you company for many hours of mate drinking.
