Yerba Mate La Mulata Suave PU-1 1000 g
A Uruguayan-style yerba that has been missing from the Polish yerba mate market for over a decade. We are very pleased to bring it back and give some of you the chance to try it again, or to try it for the first time.
La Mulata Suave is a classic Uruguayan-type yerba, i.e. Tipo PU-1. The La Mulata brand is easy to recognise by its distinctive, beautiful logo featuring a woman. Available in a larger, economical 1000 g pack.
As befits a yerba of this type, it is fairly finely cut with a minimal amount of stems and dust. The leaves have a fairly intense green colour, more vivid than in the Tradicional version. To prepare it properly and enjoy its full flavour, you will need a well-filtering bombilla with a spoon filter, or a bomba. Of course, the traditional preparation (the so-called mound) is also recommended to avoid problems with the bombilla clogging.
When you open the pack, you are hit by a grassy scent with grain, nettle and hay notes. The aroma is relatively light and pleasant, without heavy notes. It certainly makes you want to prepare an infusion right away.
The first infusions bring gentle bitterness, little astringency and relatively light flavours with noticeable plant, grassy and nettle notes. The name Suave is justified in this version, as the bitterness and astringency are clearly lower, while the notes mentioned above are more pronounced.
As with the Tradicional version, the infusion gains strength after a few refills, but the bitterness and astringency remain at a clearly lower level. The infusion offers interesting flavours, with wheat notes and a light creaminess (sweetness) appearing over time. No smoky or heavy notes.
In terms of energy it is a solid choice, holding up for a long time through refills. It also has a high yield, so you can enjoy the tasty infusion for many hours.
La Mulata Suave is also available in a 500 g pack, as well as in the Tradicional version in 500 and 1000 g packs.
