Yerba Mate Kyre'y Tradicional 500 g
Another traditional option from Paraguay, this time featuring a friendly member of the Guarani people, who is not afraid of drinking from two mate gourds at once. At least that is what the artwork on the Kyre'y Tradicional pack suggests :)
Joking aside, the producer does not state the caffeine content, but in terms of energy it undoubtedly performs above average. As befits a classic Paraguayan version, it consists mainly of fairly finely cut leaves with an admixture of more coarsely cut stems and a moderate amount of dust.
The yerba smells fairly intense: the scent is sharp, slightly smoky and distinctive. It sounds like an option for fans of intense experiences in the Paraguayan style.
The infusion is bold, bitter and astringent, and the taste itself is fairly deep and low, which makes it definitely an option for lovers of intense flavours. You can sense light smokiness and smoked notes, and the infusion easily withstands refills.
