Yerba Mate Indega Kuna Guapa 500 g
A 2021 release from the Paraguayan brand Indega that has finally made it to Poland. The blend received plenty of favourable opinions and reviews, so we were keen to add it to our range - and so we did.
Indega Kuna Guapa is an intense, bold blend that is perfect for cold preparation as refreshing terere. You can also brew it hot, but the taste will be somewhat different from the cold version. Why is that?
Besides fairly finely cut yerba mate leaves and stems with a moderate amount of dust, the blend also contains rosemary, green tea, catuaba, ginger and lemon oil. In the cold version the rosemary is relatively mild and only subtly noticeable in the infusion, whereas brewed hot it comes through quite clearly. Cold (as terere) the taste is perfectly balanced: the additions are noticeable but do not disturb or significantly overshadow the yerba mate itself, which can still be tasted.
The aroma is also worth mentioning: lightly smoky and tea-like, with a hint of orange and a slight spiciness, probably coming from the ginger and rosemary.
This new release from Indega also offers an above-average energy boost and a high yield. The intensity of the flavour stays high even after pouring more than a litre of water through a standard serving (approx. 50 g).
Indega Kuna Guapa is an exceptionally successful combination of yerba mate, herbs and orange oil that instantly joined my favourite Paraguayan blends. It is suitable at every stage of your adventure with the divine herb of South America.
