Yerba Mate Costa Norte 500 g
An Argentinian classic from the province of Misiones without additives, produced by SANESA, which also owns other brands - Mathienzo and Natura. It stands out for its interesting processing: first it is dried for 12 hours using the sin humo method (without smoke), and then aged for 8 months.
Costa Norte contains medium-sized yerba mate leaves and stems and a moderate amount of dust. Its aroma can be described as delicate yet pleasant, fresh and grassy, reminiscent of a meadow. The flavour of the infusion is classic and Argentinian, with noticeable acidity and an interesting bitterness. Smoky notes are absent or barely noticeable; instead you get a light sweetness, a woody, astringent taste on the tongue and a light nutty note in the background. The taste resembles well-known classics such as Rosamonte Elaborada and Nobleza Gaucha.
Costa Norte is not an exceptionally stimulating mate - it is better described as moderately stimulating. To get the full flavour, we recommend drinking it with a so-called mound, which provides better filtering, makes the leaves last longer and gives a better taste experience. A big advantage of this new arrival is also how long it lasts: a serving of approx. 50 g can take around a litre of water.
Yerba Mate Costa Norte, meaning "northern coast", is a good choice both for those taking their first steps in the world of yerba mate and for more experienced drinkers looking for new taste experiences.
