Yerba Mate Centinela Tradicional 1000 g
An unusual blend from Brazil that should mainly contain finely cut leaves and a small amount of stems, which is not entirely the case.
This is all due to the tipo PU-1 marking visible on the Centinela yerba mate packaging, which, as it turns out, does not always mean the same thing ;)
In the economical one-kilogram pack you will find fairly coarsely cut leaves mixed with more finely ground ones, as well as a considerable amount of relatively coarsely cut stems. The amount of dust is relatively small.
Its aroma can be described as slightly grainy, nutty, hay-like and gently grassy. Definitely very pleasant and light on the nose.
Centinela Tradicional tastes fairly dry, slightly astringent, grainy and nutty, reminiscent of roasted sunflower seeds. Its astringency and bitterness grow stronger with each refill. A light sweetness and woody notes can be sensed in the background, which makes the blend interesting both for its combination of flavours and for the look of the leaves themselves.
It delivers a good but not excessive dose of energy. It offers solid yield, guaranteeing many hours of enjoyable mate drinking. Available in limited quantities, so it is worth getting it now, as it will only be back in a few months.
