Opis produktu
Yerba Mate Kiero Mate Tipo PU-1 1000 g
Leaves produced in Brazil in the Tipo PU-1 style, which means the pack contains mainly fairly finely cut leaves with a minimal admixture of stems. That said, you will also come across some slightly more coarsely cut pieces of leaves, while there is practically no dust.
Kiero Mate PU-1 welcomes you right after opening with a pleasant aroma, which can be described as slightly grassy, vegetal and grainy, and definitely not overly intense or heavy.
Like most Uruguayan-style yerba mate, it opens up with each refill. At first it is fairly fresh and gently grassy, with a delicate earthiness, light astringency and mild bitterness. Over time the bitterness and astringency grow stronger, and the infusion becomes more intense and distinct. Grainy accents come through, and you should be able to sense a light sweetness and a subtle saltiness reminiscent of umami.
Interestingly, the leaves absorb water very quickly and increase in volume, so keep this in mind when deciding how much to put in, so that the leaves do not start to "escape" from the matero (mate gourd).
In terms of yield, as befits Uruguayan yerba mate, it is above average, so it is actually hard to fully wash out the leaves and strip them of all flavour.
In terms of energy, it is quite substantial, and Kiero Mate will deliver a solid energy boost for many hours of mate drinking.
If you like the Uruguayan style, we strongly encourage you to try this blend, as it will be available for a relatively short time, although it will certainly return, because we really liked it ;)
