Yerba mate As de Bastos Tradicional 500 g
The second offering from the province of Misiones by the As de Bastos brand, with its characteristic playing card - the ace of clubs - visible in the logo. This is the traditional Argentinian-style version, more intense in flavour than the version made for the European market. First tested in August 2021, we have managed to bring it into our permanent range!
As de Bastos Tradicional is definitely bolder in flavour and aroma. When you open the pack, you can smell a hay-like, grainy, woody, slightly smoky and sharp aroma that tempts you to fill your gourd straight away.
The pack contains fairly coarsely cut leaves mixed with more finely ground ones, stems and a small amount of dust.
From the first sips the infusion is quite intense, with a pleasant bitterness and astringency, a light smoky note, medium acidity and interesting grainy, woody and herbaceous notes in the background.
It provides an above-average energy boost, and the leaves are economical, guaranteeing many hours of mate drinking with an exceptionally tasty Argentinian yerba mate.
