Yerba Mate Arai Tipo Uruguaya Despalada 500 g
A very interesting option from the Arai brand, which is making its debut on the Polish yerba mate market. At the moment, two variants from this company are available in our shop: a classic Argentinian style and a classic Uruguayan style.
Arai Tipo Uruguaya Despalada is without a doubt an exceptional mate. It fully captures the Uruguayan character and cut. Inside the pack you will find fairly finely cut leaves with a minimal share of stems. There is practically no dust in this variety. It is also one of a kind because most Uruguayan-style mate is produced in Brazil, whereas here the herb comes from Argentina, from the province of Misiones.
The flavour of Arai Uruguaya can be described as astringent, grassy, creamy and slightly bitter, with other interesting notes in the background. Personally, I detect a strongly vegetal taste reminiscent of seaweed (algae), as well as notes of nuts and bread crust. It is certainly a wealth of flavours with a pleasant intensity. These flavours are the result of a natural ageing process lasting at least 24 months. The most unusual flavour notes emerge between the 18th and 24th month of ageing.
The high yield is also worth mentioning; it results partly from the way the leaves are cut and partly from the high quality of the product. Another advantage is the very solid dose of stimulation from the infusion, which makes Arai a very good choice for a demanding, busy day when you need plenty of energy.
Arai Tipo Uruguaya is a very good choice for those looking for new flavours in the world of yerba - they will not be disappointed. Because of the considerable intensity of the infusion, we do not recommend it at the beginning of your yerba mate journey, unless you are not afraid of bitterness.
