A classic yerba mate (erva mate) from Brazil by the Yacuy brand in an economy pack, made of intensely green, very finely ground leaves, with an addition of more coarsely cut mate leaves and medium-sized stems. Importantly, the mate is vacuum-packed, so it keeps its wonderful flavour and aroma for a good few months.
Yacuy Nativa is a Brazilian mate made of finely ground leaves and medium-sized stems. Its flavour can be described as vegetal, grassy and slightly sweet with a light bitterness, and its aroma as mild with a pleasant fruity note. This is because this mate is neither smoked nor aged. Like every Chimarrao-type mate, this variety requires special preparation. It is a very long-lasting mate - with a properly formed mound, you can refill it at least a dozen or so times.
Yerba mate Yacuy Chimarrao Nativa 1 kg is a yerba mate that can only be prepared the Brazilian way, i.e. using the mound method: pour the dry leaves into one side of a large gourd and fill the empty space on the other side with water that has been cooled beforehand. Wait for the mate to soak up the water, then insert a bombilla with a large, flat filter (bomba), pushing the mate to one side so that the filter rests against the leaves, which form a stable mound and let you enjoy the taste of Brazilian chimarrao. Top up with water. It can be refilled at least a dozen or so times, until the flavour is completely washed out and the aroma is gone.
