Yerba mate Siempre Elisa Tradicional 500 g
A classic Argentinian Despalada-type yerba mate in stylish paper packaging, containing only Paraguayan holly leaves with no added stems. Naturally aged for 12 months. Its leaves, however, stand out strongly from other Argentinian yerbas thanks to the unusual flavours of the infusion.
Siempre Elisa contains coarsely cut, intensely green leaves and a small amount of dust, which makes the leaves extremely photogenic. It is certainly an excellent choice for those who like coarsely cut varieties. We are sure that preparing it will be child's play, forming a slope will cause no trouble at all, and the leaves will delight your taste buds for many hours.
The producer recommends filling about 3/4 of the vessel. Make the first pour with slightly cooler water, around 45°C, and the following pours with warm water at around 70°C. Traditional preparation, i.e. with a slope, is recommended.
The dry leaves smell intense and fairly unusual due to the notes you can detect. The scent is pleasantly herbal, vegetal, reminiscent of nettle, grassy, seaweed-like and tea-like. More standard notes can also be detected - woody, grainy and nutty - but they are not in the foreground.
The aroma of this yerba is undoubtedly intriguing and strongly tempts you to taste the infusion quickly. From the start it is rich and complex, strongly vegetal and unusual. The notes mentioned above make themselves clearly known, and there is no shortage of good yerba bitterness and astringency. On the other hand, there are no heavy or smoky notes of any kind in the infusion.
This combination of aromas and flavours inevitably invites comparisons between Siempre Elisa Tradicional and sin humo yerbas such as Kraus Pure Leaf. What sets it apart, however, are its tea-like, herbal, nettle and seaweed notes.
Siempre Elisa leaves hold up to many refills, delivering an exceptional energy boost over many hours of mate drinking. It is undoubtedly a choice for those looking for unusual flavours, with no additives and a distinct effect - this yerba will certainly rise to any challenge!
