Opis produktu
Yerba mate Saltos del Mocona Tradicional 500 g
An Argentinian yerba with no additives, created in honour of the Moconá Falls, which are quite unique. It is produced in El Soberbio in the province of Misiones, near Route 13 KM (Ruta 13 KM).
Moconá comes from the Guarani language and means "that which swallows everything". The Moconá Falls are an unusual type of waterfall (cascades), 5 to 10 metres high, interrupting the course of the Uruguay River for about 3 kilometres on the border between Brazil and Argentina. What makes them special is that they do not run across the current, like most waterfalls, but lengthwise along it. In some places the river is as much as 170 metres deep.
In the Saltos del Mocona Tradicional pack you will find both fairly coarsely cut leaves and smaller ones, with medium-sized stems and a small amount of dust. Thanks to this cut, it is very easy to form a slope that holds up to many refills.
The dry leaves are aromatic: strongly woody, grainy and nutty, tea-like and hay-like. There are no heavy or smoky notes.
During the first pours the flavour of the infusion is fairly mild, but over time it gains strength and intensity. Woody, grainy and nutty notes come to the fore; the bitterness is pleasant and the astringency moderate. You can taste a slightly salty note, a drying sensation on the tongue and a minimal creaminess. As with the aroma, you won't really find any heavier or deeper notes.
Saltos del Mocona is not overly strong, but it provides a good energy boost for many hours. The leaves keep a proper level of intensity for a long time, and it is definitely one of those yerbas that every fan of the Argentinian style should try.
It is produced by Establecimiento Yerbatero ANRA S.R.L., whose portfolio also includes the Irupe, Encanto and Mateando Te brands.
