Yerba Mate Salus Compuesta con hierbas 500 g
New from Argentina, from one of the oldest brands in the country. Salus currently offers three blend variants. This is the herbal version with added stevia, poleo, lemon verbena and natural flavouring.
Salus Compuesta con hierbas stands out for its nicely cut leaves, which are fairly large, with some stems. The herbal additions are visible, especially in full sunlight, when they shimmer in colours different from the Paraguayan holly itself. The pack contains a small amount of dust, which will please lovers of coarsely cut varieties.
The leaves smell really interesting: slightly hay-like, nutty, lightly smoky, citrusy, grainy and slightly herbal. An intriguing combination of aromas - not overly heavy or intense, but noticeable, and they make you want to try the infusion straight away.
Thanks to the additions, the infusion is slightly tea-like and delicately citrusy, with a mild sweetness from the stevia, plus a pleasant bitterness and astringency. In the background there is also a light smokiness and grainy, hay-like notes. The infusion surprises with its mildness and combination of flavours; the sweetness is not overly intense and does not overwhelm the palate.
In terms of energy it is rather moderately stimulating, while its yield is solid and the leaves withstand repeated refills for quite a long time.
Salus Compuesta con hierbas is also perfect for preparing cold (terere) on hot summer days. We recommend it to all lovers of herbal mate varieties and anyone looking for new taste experiences.
