Opis produktu
Yerba mate Irupe Tradicional 500 g
Another new brand in our range, from the town of Oberá in the province of Misiones, Argentina. It is produced by Establecimiento Yerbatero ANRA S.R.L., whose portfolio also includes the Irupe and Mateando Te brands.
The person behind the Irupe brand is María Gabriela Martínez, a yerba and tea sommelier. The brand's name is linked to a beautiful young woman named Irupe and the legend associated with her.
This version is a traditional yerba with no additives, containing medium-sized Paraguayan holly leaves with some stems and a moderate amount of dust. When you open the pack, you are greeted by a fairly mild aroma: hay-like, lightly smoky and woody, reminiscent of a campfire. It is not overly sharp or intense, but pleasant and inviting you to fill your gourd and pour.
The producer recommends filling 3/4 of the vessel with leaves, making the first pour with noticeably cooler water, and then using water at around 80°C. Traditionally, of course - with a slope.
The first pours of Irupe Tradicional have a fairly mild and delicate taste with notes typical of Argentinian yerbas: plenty of creaminess, woody, grainy and nutty notes. Over time, however, bitterness and astringency grow stronger. The infusion has interesting notes of bread crust, a drying sensation on the tongue, and tea-like and hay-like notes. It is tasty, without excessive intensity, and ideal for everyday mate drinking.
In terms of energy it is a good choice - of course not at the level of the well-known Argentinian despaladas, but it will undoubtedly provide the energy you need for many hours and let you function with a high level of focus and concentration. The infusion stands up well to refills, which makes it an interesting choice for all fans of the Argentinian style, regardless of how long they have been drinking yerba.
