Opis produktu
Yerba Mate Rio Negro Bitter Lemon 400 g
New on the Polish yerba mate market, available since the 1st quarter of 2021. A very distinctive blend from plantations in the Corrientes region, located in north-eastern Argentina between Brazil and Paraguay.
Rio Negro Bitter Lemon is an option for fans of bitterness and astringency. It contains relatively finely ground yerba mate leaves and stems with added lemon peel, lemongrass and flavouring. As the name suggests, it is a relatively bitter and tart mate, at least when prepared hot.
When you open the pack, you can sense a delicate lemon aroma with smoky and grassy accents. We pour it into the matero (mate gourd) and add water. What is the result?
With the first infusion, the taste is quite bitter and flat, with a strong bitterness from the lemon peel, but with each subsequent infusion it gets much better. The bitterness and astringency lose intensity over time
In terms of stimulation it is rather moderate and does not belong to the particularly stimulating varieties. The classic Rio Negro version does much better in this respect. Given the nature of the product, we definitely recommend preparing it as terere, and not necessarily for those who are not on friendly terms with yerba bitterness. It is definitely an option for those who like bitterness and astringency.
As you know, I am personally not a big fan of flavoured mates, so my assessment of any such version will be very subjective and strict. Nevertheless, if you are looking for new yerba flavours, Rio Negro with the crocodile on the packaging may be an interesting option, as it certainly cannot be accused of lacking intensity.
Cold, it should be much milder and tastier.
