Yerba Mate Rei Verde Chimarrao Nativa 500 g Vacuum
A classic Brazilian chimarrao in a hermetically sealed (vacuum) pack that preserves its quality, intense green colour and beautiful aroma. It contains finely ground leaves with an admixture of coarsely cut twigs that help with filtering.
To prepare it, you will need a bombilla with a flat, round filter with small holes, the so-called bomba. Otherwise you will hardly be able to enjoy its flavour.
When opened, it smells of freshly cut grass with a grainy note - very delicate, but inviting.
Rei Verde Chimarrao Nativa tastes fresh, grassy, mild, delicate and light. You will find interesting tea-like, slightly grainy and biscuity accents. Its energising effect is rather moderate, while its longevity can be described as good. A medium serving (approx. 60 g) allowed us to pour more than 2 litres of water through it.
Definitely one of the better options in this price range, so it is a safe choice for anyone who wants to try chimarrao: if it does not work out, it will not be a big expense - and it may be the beginning of a wonderful adventure with Brazilian "green flour".
Rei Verde charms with its lightness and mildness - a good choice for a relaxed afternoon or a generally calmer day. It will let you unwind, gather your thoughts and enjoy a good Brazilian erva mate.
