Yerba Mate Primicia Elaborada 500 g
Another option from Argentina, but this time not from the province of Misiones but from Corrientes, whose mates make up a clear minority on the Polish market for the divine herb of South America. This is a fantastic mate with a very rich and complex flavour that will delight many yerba mate fans.
When you open the pack, Primicia Elaborada hits your nose with an intense aroma with noticeable grassy notes, the scent of a meadow and light smokiness. The leaves themselves look rather surprising, as they are quite finely ground, which is a fairly rare sight in mate from Argentina. In addition, there are medium-sized stems and quite a lot of dust.
The result of this combination is an exceptionally intense and rich flavour with a noticeable, smoky bitterness. There is no shortage of an astringent feel on the tongue or woody notes. The character of this mate is more Paraguayan than Argentinian; it offers not only complex flavours but also a very solid stimulating effect. In my opinion, it even beats Taragui sin palo, considered by many to be one of the most stimulating mates from Argentina, alongside Titrayju, Flor de Lis and Ytacua.
Add to that a very high yield, and the result is a mate from the very top shelf of yerba. An exceptional option that you simply cannot ignore.
It is worth adding that Primicia Elaborada is produced with respect for the natural environment (e.g. avoiding excessive exploitation of the soil) and for society (e.g. with care for the people living in the growing areas).
