Yerba Mate Mbaeteko con hierbas Ciruela (plum) 500 g
Until now, our range included only the traditional option from the Mbaeteko brand. With the latest delivery we are adding three new herbal or herbal-fruit options.
The first one is a blend with added herbs: mint, senna, burrito and field horsetail. It is rounded off with a plum flavouring which does not taste artificial, does not disturb the flavours of the infusion and adds an interesting aroma. Something for fans of plums or of yerba mate with a plum note.
The Mbaeteko con hierbas leaves look very appealing: they are not ground too finely, which makes this yerba fairly easy to prepare regardless of your yerba experience. The leaves are medium-sized, with an admixture of stems and herbs, which makes it very easy to form a slope in the gourd.
The blend has a pleasant minty scent with a light tea-and-herb note, rounded off by the plum. And what kind of plum? In our opinion the aroma and taste are closer to dried plum than smoked plum.
Mbaeteko Ciruela intrigues from the very first sip: the infusion is minty, refreshing thanks to the mint, and slightly tea-like. The bitterness and astringency are moderate for a Paraguayan yerba. The plum flavour is well balanced and spot on, nicely complementing the yerba and herbal notes and adding a distinctive plum finish.
In terms of yield it performs solidly: the leaves release their flavour for a long time, and the plum note stays noticeable for a long while, pampering your taste buds. It gives quite a decent energy boost, although of course it is not as strong as the traditional version.
This is a completely new take on flavours from Mbaeteko, which will surely satisfy those looking for unusual flavour combinations and fans of the Paraguayan style in general.
Due to the presence of senna, it may have a laxative effect. Not recommended for pregnant women.
