Yerba Mate Rojo Compuesta con hierbas 500 g
The base of this blend is yerba from Obera in the province of Misiones, Argentina. It is produced by Molinos La Misión SA, a company founded by the son of Ukrainian immigrants, Don Juan Eladio Stepaniuk. One of the cornerstones of the Rojo brand is the natural seasoning of the Paraguayan holly leaves and stems. The process is not accelerated in any way, and for this mate it lasts 18 months, during which it develops a deeper flavour. Thanks to respecting the natural ageing process, the mate will be tastier while also smoother and less acidic. Besides the flavour, two other things matter too: the beautiful aroma and the colour of the leaves are preserved.
Besides Paraguayan holly, the blend contains aromatic herbs: mint, poleo and chamomile. These additions also make the blend perfect for cold preparation as a refreshing terere.
The infusion is pleasantly minty and tea-like, with a delicate sweetness from the chamomile. Bitterness and astringency are moderate, so it will undoubtedly appeal to lovers of lighter but aromatic Argentine blends.
Mate Rojo Compuesta con hierbas releases its flavour for a relatively long time, but it is not a particularly stimulating option. Still, it certainly does not lack flavour, thanks to the excellent base from Mate Rojo and the bouquet of aromatic herbs.
It is an ideal choice for a more relaxed day, for example a Saturday afternoon, when it will gently stimulate you, improve concentration and lift your mood.
