Yerba Mate La Hoja Tradicional 500 g
A classic from San Ignacio in the province of Misiones, Argentina, which is back in our range after a few months' absence (as of March 2026). The brand name "la hoja" means "the leaf".
Inside the pack you will find yerba without additives - fairly green, medium-sized leaves with an admixture of stems and a moderate amount of dust, which makes this yerba extremely easy to prepare every day.
The dry leaves have a distinct aroma dominated by woody, hay-like, malty and tea-like accents. The aroma alone signals an above-average energising effect, as confirmed by other yerbas such as Don Lucas, Salam or Andresito.
In terms of flavour, La Hoja Tradicional is a solid choice that charms with an interesting flavour bouquet full of intriguing accents. The infusion offers pleasant bitterness and astringency, malty, woody and tea-like notes and a light creaminess. In addition, as with most yerbas from Argentina, there are cereal and nutty notes, making it a very successful blend. The first refills are fairly mild, but after 2-3 refills the infusion definitely gains intensity.
The infusion delivers a very good dose of energy while maintaining the right level of intensity for many hours, which makes it a good choice for fans of classic Argentinian yerbas with above-average energy.
