Yerba Mate Kalena Despalada 500 g
A newcomer straight from Apostoles in the province of Misiones, Argentina. A very leafy version with no additives and a beautifully coloured leaf.
At first glance you can see that this is an above-average yerba mate. Very coarsely cut leaves are relatively rare among widely available varieties. The leaves have a beautiful, intense green colour and a wonderful, slightly grassy and earthy aroma. It certainly tempts you to pour the leaves into your matero (mate gourd) straight away.
Kalena Despalada consists mainly of leaves, about 90% of the blend, plus up to 10% stems. The processing method is considered artisanal (in Spanish "elaboracion artesanal"), which leaves its mark on the taste of this mate. Although the flavour seems gentler than in the Elaborada, it is deep and invites you to keep refilling. In terms of stimulation it is solid, but it is certainly not the most energising Argentinian mate on the market.
Kalena Despalada contains almost no dust or finer mate particles, which will certainly appeal to beginners and fans of less dusty varieties. With subsequent infusions you will notice creaminess, a light sweetness and nutty notes, which make for a very good variety of flavours.
Produced without artificial fertilisers or so-called agrotoxins. This guarantees an excellent taste at a very affordable price. This newcomer is hard to pass by. A real treat that we recommend at every stage of your yerba mate journey.
