Yerba Mate Fortuna Menta y Boldo 500 g
A brand-new Paraguayan brand in our range, with a history going back to 1975 and continuing to this day. Nearly 50 years of experience in growing and producing yerba mate shows that they know Paraguayan holly like few others. Otherwise their yerbas would not have won the recognition of Paraguayan consumers.
How will it do in Poland? We will soon find out!
The Fortuna brand will be available exclusively in our shop, and its range includes four herbal or herbal-fruit blends and one traditional option.
The second of them is a strongly herbal version in a popular style, Menta y Boldo, made of fairly finely cut leaves with an admixture of stems and a moderate amount of dust. It is rounded off with herbs: mint and boldo, which makes it a perfect base for refreshing terere on hot days.
However, nothing stops you from preparing it hot as well. The choice is yours!
Due to the relatively fine cut, the leaves swell fairly quickly, so we recommend not putting too much into the vessel. The 3/4 that some people typically use may partly end up outside the vessel.
Once opened, the yerba smells fairly intense: above all you can sense the aroma of mint and the typical herbal, tea-like scent of boldo. From the first pour the herbal additions make themselves known and can be tasted in the infusion. However, they do not completely dominate the Paraguayan holly, but complement it with mint, herbal and tea notes. The bitterness is reduced to some extent, which should appeal to lovers of slightly lighter flavours.
Add to that noticeable astringency, slightly smoky notes and a drying aftertaste on the tongue, and the result is a remarkably successful herbal blend in the popular combination of mint and boldo.
In terms of energy it has a solid effect, providing power for many hours of physical or mental work. The yerba is long-lasting and easily withstands refills, delivering interesting taste sensations.
We highly recommend it cold with ice cubes and well-chilled water - a guarantee of refreshment and energy to get things done.
