Yerba mate Dulce Beso Especial 500 g Barbacua
One of the options we already had the chance to test in 2021, and it won our approval. We tried hard to bring it in, and despite some delay we finally succeeded.
Dulce Beso translates as "sweet kiss", which can also be seen on the pack of this yerba. A certain sweetness can also be tasted in the infusion, but more on that later. As for the product itself, it is naturally aged for 2 years, during which it acquires interesting flavours and aromas. It is dried using the Barbacua method, which is gaining quite a following in Poland. The product itself should be considered niche due to its small production volumes. All the more reason to try it, as it is a real rarity!
A classic variety from the Misiones province with a cut that is pleasing to the eye. It contains mainly medium-sized leaves with some stems and a moderate amount of dust. The aroma can be described as pleasant, slightly hay-like and nutty with a sweet accent.
So how does Dulce Beso Especial taste? The sweetness in the name is definitely noticeable - many may even be surprised that it contains no sugar, sweetener or stevia. We assure you it has not been additionally sweetened; it simply has this particular flavour quality, which can be noticed to a greater or lesser extent in Argentinian varieties.
The flavour is rounded off by a pleasant bitterness and moderate astringency, with a light smokiness and grainy-nutty notes in the background. An exceptionally interesting composition with an above-average yield and a quite solid energy boost.
Dulce Beso is a one-of-a-kind option that every fan of the Argentinian style should definitely reach for.
