Opis produktu
Yerba mate Don Justo Tradicional 500 g
Another gentleman joins our range: Don Justo, a classic Argentinian yerba with no additives from the province of Corrientes. What's inside the pack?
The cut is fairly coarse, with larger and smaller pieces of leaves, medium-sized stems and a moderate amount of dust.
As a curiosity, the producer states that an infusion made from 50 g of yerba with 500 ml of water at around 70°C contains about 0.32 g of caffeine. As for preparation, it recommends the traditional method (with a slope): fill 3/4 of the vessel, make the first pour with water at around 60°C, and then use water at around 80°C.
The dry leaves smell fairly mild - light, hay-like, grainy and nutty, and grassy. A very delicate composition, something for fans of lighter Argentinian yerbas. That does not mean it is bland, though - not at all!
Don Justo Tradicional is a rather distinctive yerba: at first there is plenty of astringency and acidity, which loses intensity over time. It is worth remembering to use cooler water for the first pour. The infusion has plenty of hay-like, grainy and nutty, and woody notes. There is also creaminess and a drying sensation on the tongue.
The leaves last well for several hours of mate drinking; in terms of energy it is moderately stimulating, so you can reach for it even a little later in the day.
