Yerba Mate Cachamate Hierbas Serranas Seleccion Premium 500 g
A herbal novelty from Cachamate, a brand famous for its really interesting blends, straight from Argentina. Here the base is Paraguayan holly aged naturally for 12 months and specially selected, so only the best leaves make it into this blend. Besides the green gold of South America bearing the logo with the characteristic little donkey, you will also find aromatic herbs: lemon verbena, mint, thyme and poleo, with no artificial flavourings added.
The contents of Cachamate Hierbas Serranas Seleccion are well protected - first by the cardboard box and then, inside, by a tightly sealed bag. This guarantees that the dried leaf keeps its wonderful aroma and intense flavour. It also has a handy closure, so there is no need to transfer the yerba to a separate container.
When you open the pack, you are greeted by a fairly intense, strongly tea-like aroma with noticeable citrus, slightly nettle-like and earthy (woody) accents.
The dried leaf itself looks remarkably photogenic, with fairly coarsely cut pieces of leaf and some stems catching the eye. The amount of dust is moderate, and the herbs mentioned at the beginning are also quite clearly visible in the blend.
The infusion is fairly intense from the very first sip, with considerable bitterness and astringency that interweave nicely with the herbal flavours trying to come to the fore. Among the herbal accents, mint, citrus, tea and woody notes dominate. The result of this combination is a strongly herbal infusion with high intensity and interesting nuances in the background.
This is definitely an option for those looking for unconventional combinations in which the herbs have a lot "to say". We really liked it and we are sure you will enjoy it too. It guarantees many hours of mate drinking and a solid energy boost, which is not exactly standard for herbal blends.
