Opis produktu
Yerba mate Barbacua Terere 500 g
Something for fans of intense flavours straight from Argentina, straight from a niche plantation run by Harry Omar Burger.
Barbacua Terere is a yerba dried using the traditional Barbacua method, which gives it its characteristic smoky taste - here without any smoked-meat notes in either the aroma or the flavour.
The cut is very coarse, with an admixture of fairly large stems and a moderate amount of dust. Its cut resembles FD Aviva, Kalena Despalada or Ajedrez Premium.
This particular version is intended for cold brewing (terere), but there is nothing to stop you drinking it hot as well. Because of the cut, however, you should leave slightly longer breaks between refills so that the leaves can fully release their yerba essence.
The packaging of this yerba is not the most attractive, but as always in such cases, what matters most is the content and the taste of the yerba mate itself. The aroma of the dry leaves is lightly smoky, grainy and nutty, tea-like, hay-like and woody. It is not overly strong or intense - overall, its scent comes across as pleasant and mild.
Thanks to the cut, forming a slope is incredibly easy. Prepare it hot or cold; if you want to make terere, remember to wait at least 10-15 minutes after the first pour so that the leaves have time to release their flavour.
The flavour of the infusion is interesting: light smokiness and plenty of woody, grainy and nutty notes. In the background you will also find tea-like hints, seaweed notes and a light creaminess (sweetness). The leaves are long-lasting, release their flavour for a long time and provide a solid energy boost.
If you are a fan of coarsely cut yerbas from Argentina, be sure to try Barbacua Terere!
