New! Something for fans of intense flavours, straight from Argentina and straight from a niche plantation. This yerba may not look particularly remarkable, but you can be sure that in this case the best is inside. It is undoubtedly one of the strongest Argentinian yerbas in terms of intensity and smokiness to have appeared in our range in recent years.
This yerba is dried using the traditional Barbacua method, which gives it its characteristic smoky taste - here without any smoked-meat notes in either the aroma or the flavour. When you open the pack, it looks closer to the Paraguayan bestsellers than to a typical Argentinian yerba.
The cut is fairly fine: mostly more finely ground leaves with some slightly larger ones, medium-sized stems and a large amount of dust. Thanks to the fine grind it is very quick and easy to form a slope, although if you are not a fan of finely ground yerbas, you will need to look for something else ;)
The dry leaves of Yerba Mate Barbacua smell intense: strongly smoky, woody, sharp and hay-like. Its aroma is sure to tempt you to fill your gourd quickly and taste the infusion. And the infusion gets straight to the point from the start: very distinctive, intense, fairly deep, smoky, astringent and exceptionally bitter. It will definitely be a real must-try for every fan of Barbacua-dried yerbas.
Over time, grainy and nutty notes gradually appear, along with more hay, a drying sensation on the tongue and a slightly salty taste. The composition is complex and rich, and it holds up to many refills while keeping the infusion highly intense.
In terms of energy it is also very good: the Barbacua Yerba Mate infusion keeps you going for many hours, so you won't lack the right level of energy, focus and concentration.
Made for lovers of niche Argentinian yerbas with bold flavours and an above-average energy boost lasting many hours. Highly recommended!
