An unusual Brazilian yerba without additives from the Barao brand. What makes it unusual? It is Brazilian yerba, but prepared in the Argentinian style. This means the pack contains mainly fairly coarsely cut leaves with some stems and almost no dust.
Barao Padrao Argentina has an interesting aroma that combines Argentina and Brazil. It can be described as grassy, hay-like, slightly grainy and nutty, with a subtle aroma of a campfire (smoke).
The dried leaves in the pack are nicely cut and definitely catch the eye. Once in the vessel, they look almost perfect!
The flavours of the infusion are interesting, combining those typical of Argentinian and Brazilian yerbas. Barao in this version offers pronounced bitterness and astringency combined with grassiness, hay-like, grainy and nutty notes, light sweetness and subtle smokiness. This makes it an out-of-the-ordinary yerba with a rich flavour profile.
