Anna Park is an organic mate produced in Obera in the province of Misiones, in harmony with nature and to the highest standards. It is one of those yerba mates that can safely be called artisanal and top-shelf.
The 3 basic pillars of Anna Park mate cultivation are:
- cultivation without agrotoxins (pesticides, fungicides or herbicides),
- natural fertilisation from composting organic matter,
- drip irrigation from clean water sources.
What else sets the production process apart?
- Hand-picking of selected leaves at the right time (when fully mature),
- Drying without smoke (sin humo),
- Natural ageing lasting up to 2 years,
- BARBACÚA: a sequential artisanal drying system.
In the Anna Park Organica pack you will mainly find medium-cut leaves and stems and a small amount of dust. After opening you can smell a light, pleasant herbaceous aroma that invites you to try it in the matero (mate gourd).
The flavour itself can be considered complex and rich. I would compare it to Liebig Original, but in a version that brings out its best qualities. Astringency and bitterness go hand in hand with herbaceous and woody notes, a light sweetness and a fresh infusion. The quality of Anna Park mate is confirmed by certificates issued by 2 independent companies. This guarantees a top-quality product made in harmony with nature. Harvests take place every 2 years so as not to deplete the soil and to give the plants enough time to regenerate
