Yerba mate Amigo Matero Tradicional 500 g
Over 50 years of yerba-making experience in the town of Obera in Misiones, Argentina, make Amigo Matero a very interesting option. It is not only about the brand's long history, but above all about what is inside this lovely little pack. As the name suggests, it is a friend of the matero (mate gourd) - and there is certainly something to that!
It consists mainly of medium-sized leaves with some stems and a moderate amount of dust. A cut that will not be a problem at any stage of your adventure with Paraguayan holly. The pack is sealed quite tightly, so the aromas are clearly noticeable and really interesting. On opening it you will notice woody notes with a nutty accent and a light smokiness.
Amigo Matero can intrigue you practically from the first sip: an unobtrusive bitterness with noticeable astringency and a smoky accent form the base of the infusion. Then come nutty and grainy notes, a drying aftertaste on the tongue and a light sweetness. The flavour profile can be described as rich and intense. Its taste gains character with every refill. The bitterness grows stronger, and in the background there is a dry accent that personally reminds us of dark chocolate with a high cocoa content.
In terms of yield and energy boost, Amigo Matero certainly ranks among the top Argentinian yerbas currently available in our shop. The infusion stays intense for a long time and provides above-average stimulation for many hours.
