Opis produktu
Ilex Guayusa (guayusa holly) 100/200 g BaBa
Ilex Guayusa (guayusa) is a wealth of antioxidants and many trace elements, plus a natural dose of stimulation and energy.
Ilex Guayusa, a relative of Paraguayan holly
Guayusa holly, i.e. ilex guayusa, is an extremely interesting plant worth saying a few words about, especially for those who know nothing about this intriguing herb. It is also called the brother of Paraguayan holly (Lat. ilex paraguariensis, commonly known as yerba mate).
Ilex Guayusa is a plant from the holly family that grows mainly in the rainforests of Ecuador and, to a lesser extent, in Peru and Colombia. Like the leaves of Paraguayan holly, ilex guayusa leaves are harvested, then dried and later ground into small pieces. The plant itself can reach up to 30 metres in height and is popular with the indigenous inhabitants of the jungle. All thanks to its remarkable properties.
Its effect can be described as stimulating; the inhabitants of the Amazon jungle drink ilex guayusa infusion to sharpen their senses and stay alert. The plant is also a rich source of theobromine (found e.g. in chocolate), xanthines, L-theanine and, given its stimulating effect, caffeine. The indigenous inhabitants also claim that ilex guayusa induces lucid dreams, which they tell one another while drinking the infusion they have prepared together.
Preparation:
Add 2-3 tablespoons of the dried leaves to 250 ml of cold water, bring to the boil and simmer over a low heat for up to 10 minutes. The infusion prepared this way can be drunk cold or warm, with your favourite fruit juice, honey or another sweetener.
Packs: 100/200 g
Country of origin: Ecuador
