Erva Mate Ximango Terere Abacaxi Menta (pineapple mint) 250 g
A brand some of you may know from the chimarrao available in our shop. This time Ximango comes in a series designed for terere, straight from Brazil. A refreshing erva mate meant to be drunk cold, with a mint and pineapple flavour and a light sweetness thanks to stevia. It contains medium-sized leaves with a good amount of stems and a small amount of dust. A typical terere cut with fairly intensely green leaves. Besides the yerba mate, this cold-brew blend contains pineapple and mint flavouring as well as stevia leaves.
Erva mate Ximango Terere is an interesting option to try cold with ice cubes. We recommend using the coldest water possible for maximum refreshment. It makes an excellent base that you can vary to suit your own needs and tastes.
When you open the pack, a pleasant pineapple scent with a light hint of mint hits your nose. The scent is gentle, neither artificial nor overpowering, which speaks well of this blend.
The taste of the infusion may surprise at first, as the stevia brings plenty of sweetness, but it fades over time and is certainly not in the foreground. There is mild bitterness and astringency, with no smoky or heavy notes. The pineapple flavour comes through just enough and blends well with the sweetness, the mint and the tea-like notes.
In terms of energy it is moderately strong and will give you a good boost for a few hours of mate drinking.
Ximango Abacaxi Menta is an interesting option for hot summer days with well-chilled water or fruit juice, fresh herbs or ice cubes. That said, there is nothing to stop you preparing it hot as well. It is also a good choice for those just starting their adventure with Yerba mate who are wary of an overly intense mate and too pronounced bitterness.
A lime and ginger version is also available.
