Erva Mate Quero Quero Chimarrao Vacuum with sugar 1000 g
A new chimarrao in our range, produced by the Verdelandia brand and available in a larger 1 kg pack. In the centre of the front of the package you can see a cuia filled with chima and a distinctive bird, called Quero Quero in Portuguese - the southern lapwing, which lives in South and Central America.
So much for the look of the package and the brand name. It comes in a vacuum pack, i.e. with the air removed. This way the leaves keep their beautiful, intense green colour for longer, and the aroma and taste stay at the highest level. Interestingly, Quero Quero has been enriched with added sugar, which boosts the sweetness of the infusion.
The leaves come from the state of Parana; they are harvested in their natural environment, where they need more time to reach full growth. This way of cultivation makes the leaves lighter and milder in taste
Inside the Quero Quero package you will find vividly green leaves with coarsely cut stems - admittedly, it looks remarkably appetising. The aroma of the dry leaves is also inviting: intense, grassy, and reminiscent of biscuits and sponge cake.
In the infusion, in turn, you will find light tartness and pleasant bitterness with noticeable grassy, grainy and nutty notes, as well as a light creaminess and sweetness. The sweet aftertaste may bring biscuits or sponge cake to mind. The first pours may be very light, but we guarantee that after 2-3 refills the intensity of the infusion will increase.
Quero Quero is an interesting option from Verdelandia; the presence of sugar may put some people off, but in our view it is absolutely not oversweetened. Interestingly, it was only after testing that it turned out to contain sugar - so the sweetness we sensed in the infusion was not excessive.
In terms of yield it is definitely a solid option and guarantees many hours of pleasant sipping, while its energy effect is rather moderate - lighter than, for example, Jacutinga or Meta Mate Moida Fina.
Still, we really liked its taste because of its lightness and the lack of excessive bitterness or tartness. This makes Quero Quero a guarantee of several hours of sipping tasty chimarrao anywhere, at any time.
