The leaves come from native forests, and the certification process itself is extremely strict, taking into account social issues concerning the local population and the impact on the natural environment. The vacuum pack contains very finely ground, vividly green leaves with larger pieces of stems. Thanks to the vacuum packaging and no ageing process, this erva has a deep green colour and a fantastic aroma.

Putinguense Tradicional Chimarrao is a remarkably aromatic chima. When you open the pack, plant-like, nettle and tea-like aromas dominate. This combination makes the scent incredibly tempting to try right away. Importantly, if an opened chima is stored properly, its aroma stays intense for a long time. That is why it is worth keeping it tightly sealed, so you can enjoy its beautiful aroma and taste.
So how does it taste?
The infusion has light bitterness, delicate tartness and an intense grassiness broken up by wheat and nutty notes and creaminess. Nettle and tea-like notes also make themselves felt. It is a remarkably successful combination of flavours that you will certainly remember for a long time and often come back to. As befits a top chimarrao, it is remarkably long-lasting and holds its flavour well through subsequent refills. Prepared the traditional way, its yield and intensity of flavour will be higher than with the so-called invertido method.
Putinguense Chimarrao is a yerba mate that can only be prepared the Brazilian way, i.e. using the mound method: pour the leaves into a large vessel on one side, then fill the empty space on the other side with water that has been cooled beforehand. Wait until the mate soaks up the water, then place a bombilla with a large, flat filter (bomba) in the vessel, pushing the mate to one side so that its filter rests against the leaves, which form a stable mound and let you enjoy the taste of Brazilian chimarrao. Top it all up with water. It can be refilled many times, until the flavour is completely washed out and the aroma is gone.
