Erva Mate Parana Tropeira Tipo PU-1 250/500 g Vacuum
Uruguay once again, and not necessarily for the last time. It is worth adding that this yerba mate is vacuum-packed, which helps preserve its unique aroma and the beautiful, intense colour of the leaves for longer.
When you open the pack you hear the characteristic "hiss", which for some reason is always fun.
Inside EMP Tropeira you will find leaves of an intense green colour, which comes from the vacuum packing mentioned above. The dried leaves smell very pleasant, slightly herbal, with an intense and distinctive aroma, plus a gentle smoky note.
As for the leaves themselves, they are mainly medium and finely cut, with a minimal amount of stems and a moderate amount of dust. Of the Uruguayan-style varieties we have tested recently, it definitely has the most coarsely cut leaves.
How does Tropeira taste? Above all, it has the smokiest aftertaste among the latest Uruguayan-style choices, plus noticeable astringency, creaminess and sweetness, a slight saltiness, a mouth-drying finish on the tongue, and grainy and tea-like notes. In short, the flavour is complex and varied, and it never gets boring
It is somewhat reminiscent of Leafy Melody by Meta Mate, but definitely lighter in taste. On the other hand, buying it (EMP Tropeira) is much more economical.
Like other yerbas in this style, it offers a high yield, while its energising effect is rather moderate.
Erva Mate Parana is a small family business that grows and produces yerba mate on a small scale. Its products have rarely been available in Poland until now, so it is worth taking the opportunity to try this excellent product made with passion and love.
