Opis produktu
Erva mate Pantanal Chimarrao Origens 1000 g Vacuum
A new brand in our range, produced by Ervateira Bonetes, which has been operating successfully since 1986. This version is grown in the southern part of the state of Parana, in Serra de Esperanca in Brazil. What makes this area special is its altitude: the plantations here lie 1200 m above sea level.
In such conditions, the yerba mate plant (Ilex paraguariensis) is firmly rooted in the soil. The altitude of the plantations means the plant receives the right amount of rainfall and sunshine, and the result is an unforgettable, fresh, tea-like and woody yerba (erva). Pantanal Origens consists mainly of very finely ground leaves as well as medium-sized stems. It is vacuum-packed, so it keeps its intense aroma and beautiful, deep green colour for longer.
A single pack contains more than 3000 finely ground leaves, which gives the right balance between leaves and stems. The leaf comes from natural cultivation, with no artificial pesticides or fertilisers used.
Because of how finely the leaves are ground, you will need a bombilla with a flattened shape, the so-called bomba, to prepare it. Without such a bombilla, preparing it properly will be extremely demanding, if not impossible. However, once you have the necessary accessories, you will enjoy its excellent taste for many hours.
The producer describes the taste of Pantanal Origens as full and fresh, with an intense bitterness in which you will find woody, tea-like and fruity notes. It guarantees many hours of top-level mate drinking.
It is additionally packed in a cardboard box, which provides better protection for the vacuum-sealed erva.
The intense green of this Brazilian "green gold" is truly stunning, all thanks to a fresh delivery. The aroma of the dry leaf is fresh, grassy, tea-like and gently nettle-like.
From the very start, the infusion impresses with its intensity and interesting background notes that are close to the aromas you can smell. The bitterness and astringency are quite solid for a chimarrao; add to that creaminess and tea, grassy and nettle notes. The sweetness (creaminess) you taste leans towards a biscuit-like sweetness.
As befits a good chimarrao, it holds a distinct taste for a long time; the chima is economical, full-bodied and provides a solid dose of energy.
