A strong, organic and stimulating yerba mate straight from Brazil, made of selected Paraguayan holly leaves. In Brazil it is called erva mate.
Erva mate Barao consists of very finely ground Paraguayan holly leaves and stems with a deep green, intense colour. The contents are vacuum-packed, so they keep their precious aroma and properties until opened, regardless of storage conditions.
Barao De Cotegipe is a yerba mate that can only be prepared the Brazilian way, i.e. using the chimarrao method: pour the dried leaves into a large cup on one side, then pour previously cooled water into the empty space on the other side. Wait until the mate soaks up the water, then place a bombilla with a large, flat filter in the cup, pushing the mate to one side so that the filter rests against the leaves, forming a so-called mound. Top everything up with water. It can be refilled many times until the flavour is completely washed out and the aroma is gone.
Erva mate Barao is a demanding yerba mate that will mainly appeal to experienced mate drinkers because of the way it is prepared. Nevertheless, it is worth spending a little more time on it, as it provides exceptional taste experiences and a big, long-lasting energy boost.
