Yerba mate Verdeflor Manzanilla (with chamomile) 500 g
The second new product from the Argentinian brand Verdeflor, with its characteristic daisy flower in the logo. This particular blend contains poleo, chamomile, mint and lemon verbena. A natural option based on yerba and herbs, something for fans of herbal options.
Verdeflor Manzanilla consists of medium and finer cut leaves with a visible addition of the herbs mentioned and medium-sized stems. The amount of dust is moderate and does not in any way hinder building a proper mound.
After opening the pack of Verdeflor in the chamomile version, the characteristic scent of chamomile comes to the fore, i.e. a herbal, sweetish aroma with a tea accent; grassy, woody, minty and citrus notes are also noticeable. The complexity of the aromas is surprising, as each of the additions is more or less noticeable, creating an interesting composition.
From the first infusion, chamomile makes itself strongly felt in the brew, so there is also plenty of creaminess that goes hand in hand with this herb. In the flavour of the infusion, the bitterness and astringency are rather delicate or moderate, but you will find tea, citrus, grassy and woody accents.
Undoubtedly, the infusion is not overly strong or intense; it is one of the lighter ones, but that does not mean it lacks flavour. Quite the opposite!
A standard serving of this Verdeflor version guarantees many hours of mate drinking in the company of a light and pleasant yerba with a strongly chamomile-herbal background. Ideal for a more relaxed or less demanding day, as it is gentle in terms of energy and will not get you going after a few quick refills :)
The blend is suitable for preparation both hot and cold as refreshing terere, when it lets you cool down and relax.
