Yerba mate Salam Despalada 250 g
One of the hits of 2025, this time in a smaller pack (250 g), containing a very leafy yerba from Salam. It consists mainly of finely cut Paraguayan holly leaves with an above-average energy kick. Interestingly, you can see the contents through the packaging - finely cut leaves.
It is a remarkably successful yerba from Argentina whose flavour is somewhat reminiscent of don Lucas Despalada, the discontinued Ytacua, Andresito Despalada or Taragui sin palo. The way the leaf is cut points it slightly towards Uruguay, thanks to the finely cut leaves with almost no stems or dust.
The dry leaf smells strongly of grain and nuts, which immediately signals intense flavour and a strong energy effect. Salam Despalada offers a remarkable richness of bitterness and astringency, supported by grainy and nutty notes and a light sweetness (creaminess). After two or three quick sips you can feel its energising effect almost immediately, so we recommend some caution :)
Salam Despalada has a subtle smoky note, but this does not bring it closer to Paraguay - it is definitely a noteworthy yerba from Argentina whose flavourful leaves will impress many. If you are looking for a strong and bold yerba, you have come to the right place - give it a try and you will not regret it.
