Opis produktu
Yerba Mate Rojo Suave BCP 500 g in a tin
A mild mate from the town of Obera in the province of Misiones, Argentina. It is produced by Molinos La Misión SA, a company founded by the son of Ukrainian immigrants, Don Juan Eladio Stepaniuk. One of the cornerstones of the Rojo brand is the natural ageing of Paraguayan holly leaves and stems. The process is not accelerated in any way and for this mate it takes as long as 24 months, which gives it depth of flavour. Thanks to respecting the natural ageing process, the mate is tastier, smoother and less acidic. Besides the taste, two other things matter too: the beautiful aroma and the colour of the leaves are preserved.
In this case, apart from the yerba itself, which is among the very good quality options, you also get a metal tin (yerbera) with a dispenser, so you can keep your mate in one place after opening and easily pour the amount you want into your chosen gourd. This way the yerba won't lose its freshness, and you can prepare the next servings without making a mess. The yerbera features interesting motifs closely related to the province of Misiones and the town of Obera, with green accents matching this type of yerba.
Mate Rojo Suave BCP is a very interesting variety thanks to its unusual taste and aroma. Almost as soon as you open the pack, you can smell plum, even though it is by no means a flavoured mate. Besides this intriguing aroma, you can also detect hay-like and other herbal notes. The aroma is not sharp and doesn't hit the nose too hard, which makes you want to try it straight away.
The pack contains a minimal amount of dust, as it is a BCP type mate (Spanish Bajo contenido de polvo - reduced dust content), as well as medium-sized leaves and stems. This combination makes preparing the mound almost child's play.
Mate Rojo Suave offers a pleasant, light bitterness, an astringent effect on the tongue, a subtle plum aftertaste, woody notes and no smokiness at first (when brewed at a lower temperature). Over time, a slight astringency and smokiness appear, which makes it really tasty!
With hotter water, the intensity of the plum flavour, astringency and smokiness increases significantly. To sum up - the taste impressions are very positive and somewhat surprising for a BCP mate; such mates often lack punch and depth of flavour, but this one is excellent.
If you are looking for a strong boost, you won't find it in Mate Rojo Suave. It is definitely a moderately stimulating mate, partly due to its reduced dust content. Recommended for beginners because it is easy to drink, and for those looking for interesting flavours thanks to its noticeable plum taste and aroma.
