Yerba mate Pampa Organica "Intensa" 500 g
A new, highly energising offering from the Monte Carlo agricultural cooperative in Argentina, which has been growing Paraguayan holly since 1930.
Yerba mate Pampa Organica "Intensa" is for those looking for bold flavour and a solid energy boost. Inside the pack you will find relatively coarsely cut leaves with some stems and a small amount of dust.
The freshly harvested leaves and stems are first passed over fire to stop the fermentation process. They are then dried using hot air only (for 6 to 8 hours), so the final product can be described as sin humo, i.e. smoke-free.
The dry yerba has an intense aroma - hay-like, slightly grassy, cereal and woody, with an interesting accent reminiscent of poppy seeds. The aroma is undoubtedly bold and distinctive, and makes you want to prepare it straight away.
From the very first infusions the brew has pronounced bitterness, a light sweetness and considerable astringency. Woody and cereal-nutty accents make themselves strongly felt, along with notes of roasted sunflower seeds and bread crust. Over time you will also notice an astringent sensation on the tongue and a slightly salty aftertaste.
The yerba is very economical and guarantees many hours of mate drinking with a solid energy boost.
It is packed in a reinforced paper bag, which is then placed in an outer cardboard box. Something for true yerba mate connoisseurs.
